The magnificent Neo-Renaissance building in which our restaurant is located is one of the most interesting Cracow's architectural monuments of the late 19th and early 20th century. Under the name of the Officers' Mess this historic edifice served as a place of social and artistic meetings of Austrian army soldiers. From 1897 on a military restaurant continuously functioned there.

For some time the building was the residence of Marshal Piłsudski - he invited there highly respected military men, western chiefs of staff and representatives of crowned heads.

One of oldest Cracow's cabaret named "Seven Cats" started its activity there. It was established by Konstatnty Ildefons Gałczyński and Marian Eile and gathered the most prominent actors of that time (such as Irena Kwiatkowska, Alicja Kamińska, Tadeusz Olsza, Ludwik Sempoliński and Jerzy Waldorff as a compere).

The rich history and architectural qualities of Art Nouveau interior make of the building a unique element of Cracow's cultural world, so far underestimated or even forgotten. However, we will do everything possible to restore the former interest of this great place making it again popular and admired.
